The Ten StepsStep 04 - CleanlinessCleanliness relates to cleansing oneself from even the slightest urge to commit a sinful act. Carefulness enables a person to discriminate between good and evil, but still leaves the urge to do evil. Carefulness really exhibits self-control. The pre-existing tendencies, desires and urges are still there but the person striving for perfection is able to discriminate between them and only do what is deemed to be good. Once cleanliness is achieved the evil inclination is negated and the possibility of sinning is removed. |
