Step 08 - Humility
The essence of humility is not attaching any importance to oneself
whatsoever. It does NOT imply that a person has to consider him or herself as
worthless (as some belief systems tend to advocate). It requires the seeker to
see their true position in relation to the Creator. Compared to the Creator and
the Creator's wishes for us anything we do is not important. We are always
falling short of the perfection we seek. But, we are important. God placed us in
this physical world for a purpose and it is for us to strive to achieve that
purpose. We should always act purely in the service of God.
