Malkuth

The God-name associated with Malkuth is Adonai.

Malkuth means "kingship". At last we find the crown of Kether in physical manifestation.

The created world exists within Malkuth. It is the final structure that enables the physical world to exist.

However, the majority of people are as unaware of the realm of Malkuth as they are of the higher Sephiroth.

We must first become aware of the Malkuth around and within us before we can start our ascent of the Tree. Indeed, the path of the Kabbalah can be seen simply as the quest to realise the immanence of Malkuth.

Malkuth is the realm of time and space. Before Malkuth time and space have existed only as concepts. Here they are actualised.

Malkuth is the only Sephirah that does not give to another, there is only the single path leading in to it from Yesod. Therefore, in theory, Malkuth is forever filling with the Divine energy flowing from above.

However, there are two ways in which Malkuth gives. Firstly there is an infinite series of Trees where each Malkuth becomes the Kether of the next one.

Secondly, it is for mankind to dissipate this energy by emulating G-d. G-d is the ultimate donor; He freely gives of Himself. But if we are made in His image then we should also give both to others and back to G-d.

The balance of Malkuth can only be maintained if mankind actively takes of the Divine influence and gives it to others and to G-d.
