Hey represents "life". It is also the definite article "the" in Hebrew. It is a letter that makes the general specific. The generality of "mankind" in daleth now becomes specific in an individual.

Hey is the vivifying spirit. It expresses the idea of being, but it is less abstract, less archetypal than the primary essence of aleph. Aleph is the essence of mankind as a whole, hey is the essence of the individual.

In its form as the definite article, hey stands for "it shall be". There is an implied sense of coming in to being in this letter, a sense of the future. Combine this with the creative power of words outlined in Path02 and much can be achieved.
