Kaph

The numerical value of Kaph is 20.

Kaph means "palm of the hand"

According to the Sepher Yetzirah, its correspondences are:

Modality

Space/
Direction

Time

Body

Life/
Death

Venus

Wednesday

Left eye

Kaph can be seen as a similar manifestation to beth. While beth is the archetypal container, symbolised by its meaning of "house", kaph, as the "palm of the hand" is a much more personal container.

From the standpoint of the practical kabbalah, it much easier for the kabbalist to work at the level of kaph than at the more archetypal level of beth. Actions initiated through the use of a kaph container will be of a more limited scope than those initiated in beth. Beth-based actions will be of a more cosmic nature.
