Yesod

The God-name associated with Yesod is El Chai

Yesod means "foundation". It is the basis on which all the higher Sephiroth rest, and it is the basis through which the higher Sephiroth channel their influences in to Malkuth.

Yesod contains all those thoughts, actions and deeds that can become manifest in the physical world through the action of Malkuth.

Yesod is the ultimate communicator. It is this Sephirah that transmits the influences of all the higher Sephiroth. Contact with Yesod opens us up to the Divine message coming from on High. It also allows us to transmit our messages back up the Tree to G-d.

Yesod also represents the male sexual organ. A truly loving sexual relationship also a high form of communication. In such a relationship the masculine-feminine interplay in Netzach-Hod combines and merges in to the communication of Yesod.

Yesod is related to the realm of dreams. In Judaism it is aid that the soul leaves the body during sleep and ascends the Tree of Life. Dreams are the messages, often garbled, that the soul brings back in to the body when we wake.
